Crystal quartz is a positive uniaxial birefringent single crystal grown using a hydrothermal process. The crystal quartz we offered is selected to minimize inclusions and refractive index variation. Crystal quartz is most commonly used for high damage threshold waveplates and polarization resistant Brewster windows for argon lasers.
